Tizafen: Indications, Mechanism of Action, Administration, Side Effects, Warnings and Interactions

It is an adrenergic agonist drug used as a muscle relaxant to treat spasticity, temporarily relieving and relaxing muscle tone.

It can also be helpful in other conditions.

Indications of taken

Tizen can be indicated for:

  • Brain and nervous disorders.
  • Spinal cord diseases.
  • Brain injuries.
  • Articulations pain.
  • Pain in the muscles
  • Back pain.
  • Headache.
  • Pain in the nerves
  • Tooth pain
  • Body pain.

Active principles of tizafen

This medicine is a combination of the following substances as active ingredients

in a capsule:

Paracetamol : (400 mg).

Acetaminophen is a non-opioid, antipyretic pain reliever prescribed for headache, pain (muscle pain, back pain), and fever, either alone or in combination with other medications. It changes the way the body feels pain and cools the body.

Tizanidina:  2mg.

 

Tizanidine is a short-acting drug for the treatment of spasticity.

Mechanism of action of tizafen

Chalk is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that relieves pain, relaxes muscles, and works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that cause pain and inflammation.

It works by targeting the brain and spinal cord centers to relieve muscle stiffness or spasms and improve pain and muscle movement.

Management

Take this medicine in the dose and duration recommended by your doctor. Swallow it whole. Do not chew, crush or break. Tizen capsules should be taken with food. This will help prevent an upset stomach.

Tizen dosage

The doctor will prescribe the doses according to the condition or requirements of each patient.

Generally, 2 to 4 mg, three times a day, is recommended (this dose may vary according to the severity of the symptoms).

Possible side effects of tizafen

The following is a list of possible side effects from the substances that make up taken capsules. This is not a comprehensive list of all adverse effects.

There is a possibility that these effects will appear, but they do not always happen. Some of the side effects can be rare but serious. See your doctor if you notice any of the following side effects, especially if they don’t disappear.

Special warnings and precautions related to chalk

Alcohol

Taking ibuprofen with alcohol increases the risk of stomach bleeding.

Pregnancy

The risks must be weighed against the benefits.

This drug may not be safe to use during pregnancy. Please consult your doctor.

Lactation

Tizen is probably unsafe to use while breastfeeding. Limited human data suggest that the drug could pose a significant risk to the baby.

Driving and attention activities

This medicine may make you dizzy, sleepy, tired, or decrease alertness. Do not drive or work in activities that require your attention while taking this drug if this happens.

Kidneys

Tizen should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. The dose of tizafen may need to be adjusted. Please consult your doctor.

Liver

It should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. The dose of tizafen may need to be adjusted.

The use of taken is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease. Liver function tests are recommended before treatment and then regularly as recommended.

Contraindications

Tizen is contraindicated in the following cases:

  • Patients with myasthenia gravis.
  • Children under 0 months to 12 years.
  • Patients are sensitive to the components of the drug.
  • Postoperative.
  • Patients with severe obstructive or restrictive respiratory failure.
  • Patients with bronchial asthma.
  • COPD patients.
  • Patients are undergoing mechanical ventilation.
