- Injections or ampoules (intramuscular or intravenous).
Indications of buscopan compositum
Some of the specific indications of buscopan compositum are the following:
- Spasms or contractions in the digestive-intestinal tract.
- Pains in the hepatobiliary organs.
- Pains caused by the menstruation process .
- Muscle tear
- Colitis .
- Kidney colic.
- Discomfort and pain from irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).
- Pains or cramps in the belly (women).
- Pain in the urinary area.
The therapy with busker compositum is not recommended for long-term treatments due to its strong composition; therefore its use should be limited.
This medicine also works to treat pain or colic caused by consuming some foods or drinks that have a tendency to irritation or produce spasms of the digestive organs, generally due to excessive consumption.
Some of these foods or drinks can be:
- Alcoholic beverages.
- Caffeine.
- Acidic or spicy foods.
Other causes for which muscle spasms may occur is poor management of stress , anxiety or eating too quickly, developing in some people what is called “nervous stomach.”
Dosage recommendations for Buscopan compositum
- It is recommended that buscopan compositum be administered 3 times a day (every 8 hours) for a short time or naturally as directed by the doctor.
- It is recommended to take buscopan compositum without chewing and with plenty of water (generally a full glass). It is suggested to eat food first.
- It is recommended not to exceed the dose prescribed by the doctor with intentions of faster relief as this can be counterproductive and cause overdose (some symptoms of overdose are: dizziness, nausea and blurred vision, in which case you should consult a doctor.
- It is recommended not to use in children under 12 years of age.
- It is recommended not to take buscopan compositum after the expiration date.
Contraindications of buscopan compositum.
Buscopan compositum is a drug considered safe; however, there are some conditions that do not tolerate the intake of this drug. For more information about your case, consult your doctor.
Some conditions in which buscopan compositum is contraindicated are:
- If there is hypertrophy of the prostate.
- If you suffer from problems such as tachycardia.
- If you have muscle weakness (mythenia gravis).
- If you have mechanical stenosis of the gastrointestinal tract (narrowing of the gastrointestinal tract).
- If you have pyloric stenosis (narrowing of the pylorus).
- If you have an enlarged colon.
- If you are allergic to any of the substances that make up this drug.
- If you are breastfeeding or pregnant.
Pregnancy
The safety of buscopan compositum has not been tested in the fetus. So it is better to prevent its use during pregnancy and especially in the first months of pregnancy. Talk to your doctor about it.
Lactation
Due to its anticholinergic nature, buscopan compositum could inhibit the secretion of breast milk. So it is recommended to take with caution.
Adverse effects caused by the use of buscopan compositum
It is possible that Buscapine compositum produces some type of side effect like any other medicine.

Conservation and storage
Buscopan compositum like all medicines should be out of the reach of children. It must be protected from light, heat and humidity.
