Definition:
It refers to cells, debris, and other solid matter in the urine. Sediments are typically created in different elements of the urinary system, such as the bladder, kidneys, etc. Sediments in the urine are widespread in most people, and their appearance in small amounts is rated as usual.
However, it is only possible to determine whether the presence of sediments in the urine is regular or not after checking the type and amount of sediments in the urine through a laboratory test.
The symptoms
Affected people may not notice any typical symptoms such as pain, burning sensation when urinating, etc. However, it is significant to remember that sediments in the urine can similarly be a viable symptom of underlying diseases such as urinary tract, bladder or kidney infections, liver diseases, etc.
Some of the symptoms that may accompany sediments in the urine are:
- I need to urinate frequently
- Changes in the color of the urine to red or pink.
- Pain during urination
- Cloudy or frothy urine.
- Pain in the lower back area (cases are rare).
Causes
Diabetes: Diabetic patients may experience sediment in the urine. Diabetes is defined as having high blood sugar levels. Excess glucose is discarded from the body as sediment in the urine. This process results in the formation of ketones, which are also discarded as sediment in the urine.
Bladder stones: As men age, the prostate tends to increase in size, causing the urethra to compress, affecting urine flow. The remaining urine piles up in the bladder and eventually becomes bladder stones, soon eliminated from the body as sediments.
Women may notice a reduction in the flow of urine due to weakening of the nerves and pressure of the bladder and deterioration in the bladder due to the appearance of bladder diverticula.
Liver diseases: Bilirubin is a protein made by the liver. The presence of bilirubin in the urine sediments may represent underlying liver conditions. Untreated cases of bilirubin in the urine can lead to jaundice.
Red blood cells in the urine: Hematuria or blood can also lead to sediment in the urine. Hematuria can originate due to many causes, such as kidney diseases, tumors in the urinary system, urinary tract infections, and renal infarcts. To get rid of Hematuria, Dicynone is very beneficial for your body
Treatment
The treatment will depend on the condition it causes. The condition is often not a concern, so the treatment may not be necessary. If the condition is due to infection, doctors can prescribe antibiotics with other possible medications.
