Indications of the Multiflora
Good health begins with balance, particularly in the gastrointestinal tract, where probiotics can help maintain healthy levels of friendly bacteria.
There are 20 times more bacteria in the body than living cells, and their role in supporting health is critical.
Having the right bacteria helps us, for example, to digest and absorb protein, produce B vitamins, protect the intestinal wall, support the immune system, and prevent harmful microorganisms from flourishing and establishing themselves.
The delicate balance of healthy gut flora can easily be disrupted by a number of factors, which can lead to poor digestion, stomach pain, bloating, constipation, wind, and other unpleasant symptoms.
Such factors include: the use of antibiotics, excessive alcohol intake, stress , illness, poor diet and high toxic load.
These circumstances can provide opportunistic pathogens with the perfect environment to grow and spread, while the number of beneficial organisms is less.
These harmful bacteria can directly cause infection or produce toxic substances that contribute to inflammation or other diseases, particularly of the digestive tract.
In these circumstances, it is important to support the replacement of healthy levels of bacteria contained in the presentation of Multiflora.
Mechanism of action
Probiotics are beneficial organisms that inhabit the digestive tracts. Supplemental probiotics help balance and restore the intestinal flora.
This is important because much of the immune system (70% or more) is closely related to the digestive tract, the main place where the body comes into direct contact with pathogens from the outside world.
These beneficial organisms are part of the intestinal defense barrier that helps prevent food allergies, inflammation, and leaky gut, as well as improving digestion and absorption, as well as producing enzymes, nutrients, and other beneficial substances that improve metabolism. Health.
Here are some of the benefits of the organisms in this formula:
- Lactobacillus acidophilus – This well-known microbe breaks down lactose (milk sugar), converts carbohydrates to lactic acid through fermentation (breaks down complex molecules), promotes intestinal regularity, and stimulates healthy immune responses.
- Lactobacillus lactis: This organism may be helpful for people with irritable bowel disease (IBD).
- Lactobacillus reuteri: This strong ally for our immune system can be useful for diarrhea and urogenital infections. It also helps maintain healthy oral health and can be helpful for eczema.
- Lactobacillus plantarum – This beneficial microbe has a high survival rate in a variety of ecological niches throughout the gastrointestinal tract, including aerobic and anaerobic environments.
- Bifidobacterium bifidum: This organism is found mainly in the colon. It is especially active against the overgrowth of Candida and other yeasts. It is also useful against E. coli.
Multiflora is a probiotic that contains five different strains of beneficial bacteria with a guarantee of 8 billion cells.
The delicate balance of healthy gut flora can easily be disrupted by a number of factors, which can lead to poor digestion, stomach pain, bloating, constipation, wind, and other unpleasant symptoms.
Such factors include: antibiotic use, excessive alcohol intake, stress, illness, poor diet, and high toxic load.
Such circumstances can provide opportunistic pathogens with the perfect environment to grow and spread, while the number of beneficial organisms is less.
These harmful bacteria can directly cause infection or produce toxic substances that contribute to inflammation or other diseases, particularly of the digestive tract.
In these circumstances, it is important to support the replacement of healthy levels of good bacteria.
Dose
Multiflora is taken alone (rather than in combination with other digestive health supplements), starting with a higher intake of 3 to 4 capsules, and divided throughout the day with food for 2 to 4 weeks. Thereafter, the intake will be reduced to 1 capsule, 1 to 2 times per day.
Side effects of Multiflora
Side effects reported from infections caused by probiotic germs are very rare and have been observed almost exclusively in immunosuppressed patients.
Even at doses 100 times higher than recommended, no problems have been reported.
Warnings and Contraindications
Various species of these microorganisms are present as part of the normal flora of the oral, vaginal or intestinal mucosa, so that infections by probiotic germs are extremely rare and occur practically exclusively in the context of immunosuppressed patients.
In studies carried out in patients with Mild Inactive Chronic Ulcerative Colitis, treated with probiotic preparations, few cases of constipation and flatulence have been recorded, being its intensity mild and without requiring the withdrawal of treatment, no relevant analytical alterations were recorded.
In the following cases, a doctor should be consulted to assess the suitability of the treatment:
- If the diarrhea is accompanied by fever or vomiting.
- In case of presence of blood in the stools.
- In case of very intense thirst or a sensation of a dry tongue as they are symptoms of dehydration.
- In children under 6 years of age, in case of diarrhea with more than 6 stools a day, lasting more than 24 hours and / or accompanied by weight loss.
- In adults and children over 6 years of age, if there is no improvement after 2 days of treatment.
The potential for infection in humans by probiotics is rare but possible and could affect immunosuppressed patients or those with serious underlying disease.
Multiflora interactions
Antibiotics can kill probiotics so at least a 3 hour interval should be allowed between taking the probiotic and the antibiotic.
